On Saturday, April 18, 2026, a guided tour of the House Beyond the Noise took place in Škofja Loka as part of the Open House Slovenia 2026 festival. The project, developed in collaboration with Biro Gašperič, opened its doors to visitors and offered direct insight into its architectural concept and execution.
Visitors experienced a thoughtfully designed home that, despite its immediate proximity to a busy roundabout, creates a sense of calm and privacy. Instead of opening towards the road, the house is oriented inward, towards a sheltered courtyard that establishes a protected living environment. This contrast between external noise and internal tranquility stood out as one of the project’s most notable qualities.
During the guided tour, the functional layout of the house was also presented. The central living area with a gallery forms the core of the home, while the bedrooms and terrace are positioned in a more intimate, secluded part. Particular attention was drawn to the use of timber structural elements, which significantly contribute to the warmth of the space and the overall quality of living.
The event once again highlighted the value of experiencing architecture firsthand, something the festival has been promoting for many years. Visitors were able to perceive the space through movement, light and materials, gaining a deeper understanding of the ideas behind its design.
House Beyond the Noise represents an example of contemporary living, where architecture responds to environmental challenges through thoughtful decisions and creates a comfortable space for everyday life.
