Traditional massive timber frame construction, a specialized load-bearing structure, has its roots in the late Middle Ages. During that time, carpenters and master builders began thinking about more economical wood utilization, leading to the construction of wooden houses, also known as timber frame houses. Alongside the simple massive log construction, a wooden structure using wooden columns and diagonal beams was developed.
