At Bauta d.o.o., we had the opportunity to participate in the construction of a unique project – a passive wooden house architecturally designed by Biro Gašperšič d.o.o. The project, named the “House for Peaceful Partygoers”, was also featured in the renowned magazine Najlepše hiše (The Most Beautiful Houses).
The house stands on a surprisingly forested plot in one of Ljubljana’s satellite municipalities, where deer still occasionally wander. The location itself creates a unique backdrop for a home that combines the intimacy of family life with the possibility of entertaining larger groups.
The owners wanted a house that would support their many hobbies – from cooking and woodworking to playing the guitar and even more unusual instruments, such as the theremin. At the same time, the space had to accommodate parties with more than thirty guests.
The result is a home that impresses upon entry with a spacious gathering area around the dining table, complemented by a long kitchen and a striking organically shaped stove. The ground floor also includes the master bedroom with a wardrobe and bathroom, as well as a library, while the children’s rooms are located in the attic. A distinctive feature of the house is the V-shaped green roof, reflected inside with a softly shaped ceiling that connects the ground floor with the upper level.
This passive house is no ordinary home – it is a home with a capital H. It combines sustainable solutions, functionality and playful architectural design, supporting both quiet family moments and lively social gatherings. We are proud that the project “House for Peaceful Partygoers”, which also involved the Bauta team, was recognized and featured in Najlepše hiše magazine.
