Luka Basi, the popular Slovenian singer known for his hits like Istrijanko ružo moja and Sedam noći, is well-loved for his sincerity, warmth and genuine connection with his listeners. Music means the world to him, but as he says himself, nothing outweighs the feeling of home – that real, safe haven we all love to return to. And that’s exactly the kind of home he has created in his wooden house.
Did you know that Luka entrusted the construction of his house to Bauta? In our conversation, he shared why he chose a wooden house, how the construction process went, which features impressed him the most, and why he would recommend the same decision to anyone. You’re invited to read this honest and inspiring interview with the charming singer.
❓ What is your living experience like in your Bauta wooden house?
My living experience in the Bauta wooden house can be summed up in one word – phenomenal. The house amazes us from A to Z. Everything – from the materials to the layout, the atmosphere and the feeling of warmth – has exceeded our expectations. At first, I couldn’t imagine the final result being as good as promised. But it turned out to be even better. When we tell family and friends about the quality of life here, they often don’t believe us … until we invite them over and they see for themselves how cozy it is.
❓ Are you satisfied with the look of the house?
Very much so – totally! Just the exterior itself, with the combination of white, anthracite and wood, is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen. This color combination is elegant and at the same time timeless. The interior is also done exactly to our taste – white walls, wooden details and anthracite-colored elements create an ambiance that makes everyone feel welcome. The design is such that it will always be “in” – modern, but with a touch of classic.
❓ In your opinion, what are the main advantages of a Bauta wooden house?
There are quite a few advantages, but I’ll highlight the low operating costs, which are really important these days. During the winter, our heating costs were so low I could hardly believe it myself. Wood as a natural material has excellent insulation properties, which really reflects in monthly expenses.
Moreover, wood is very pleasant to live in – it offers warmth, coziness and a connection to nature. Bauta builds using the timber frame construction system, which allows for greater flexibility and high-quality execution.
❓ How did you experience the construction process itself?
It was truly a special experience. What I really liked about timber frame construction is that everything happens on-site, not in a factory. That meant I could monitor the progress step by step, be present throughout the process, and truly feel how our home was coming together. In addition, communication with the Bauta team was top-notch. From the main project managers to the subcontractors – everyone was responsive, professional and ready to help. Even if I had a “silly” question, I always got a clear and friendly answer.
❓ Would you recommend Bauta to others?
Absolutely! If you’re looking for a reliable partner to build your home, Bauta is the right choice. They stick to agreements, don’t hide costs, and everything is transparent. What they promise, they deliver – often even better than expected. Their attitude towards clients is rare these days – human, warm and professional. And on top of that, you get a home that’s energy-efficient, aesthetically refined and built with the future in mind.
❓ What advice would you give to those considering building a wooden house?
Go for it. Do your research, ask around, visit a property. A wooden house isn’t just “trendy” – it’s truly a smart and sustainable choice. And once you see everything that timber frame construction enables, how fast and precise everything goes, you gain even more confidence in your decision. It’s also crucial to choose a company you can trust. For me, that was Bauta.
❓ How does the house influence your creativity and personal life?
A lot! This house is my peace, my corner of inspiration. Since I’m often on the road, it means a lot to come back to a home that reflects my style, where I have my own space to rest and to create. Natural materials, silence, the warmth of wood … all of it helps me stay focused and creative. And it makes me appreciate the time I spend at home with my loved ones even more.
